L24.155 Queenmaker Palm

A remarkable silver palm tree that is said to grow only in the Crimson dustlakes of the Dousing Sprig that lies on the Folded Qeleres. It is one of the observed Breakers of Symmetry, as it is claimed that only one Queenmaker Palm can exist in the Spoke, and attempts to grow more of it has failed.

The palm is involved in a very sacred rite of bestowing Mandate of Rule to the chosen Queen of the Tribes of the Dousing Sprig. Every 12 years, when the Palm vanishes from its current location, thousands of girls set sail in small sailboats, traversing orca infested dusts in search of the palm which promises to bestow them queenship.

 A terrible illness which causes flower-like marks to form on the skin of the infected. These flower-like marks emit colored light which is considered a bad omen by many civilisations save those of the Shrouded Nest whose Saintess was said to have Scintrose across and within her body. As the disease advances, the marks become more detailed, until the point actual Brightflowers actually bloom upon the skin of the infected. At this point the flowers release an infectious pollen which spreads by air to infect others.

D24.185 Prison of the Lothgem

Lothgem, a hideous uncut spinel the size of a fist levitating above a tarnished silver pedestal, surrounded by walls made of mosaics of precious jewels depicting praying Dwarven monks.  It is dull to the point it darkens the light about it. When held, it repels all manner of jewels, crystals and precious stones, and may even repel magical precious stones when on a 1 of a 1d6 roll.  The Lothgem is sentient but reticent, and utterly despises all creatures who wear any sort of precious jewelry, and may forcefully repel such creatures adornments depending on its whims. Conversely, it likes the company of tarnished, rusty or scratched stones and may decide to accompany those adorned by them.
