Hajer felt a wave of torpor permeate through his body as he crawled ahead. This was the most difficult part of entering the Underbark - many would lose consciousness if they were not sufficiently prepared and might even suffocate to death as a result due to the unusual humidity of this section of the Wall of Vapour.
