Though not as barren as the Crescent, the mainland of Shur-Qamet which the Venerable Mats govern are much like a cold desert in which one occasionally finds small settlements built around hot springs where the common folk live.

The Ascetics on the other hand live in Hermitages carved by nature's Sculpting Wind, far removed from these settlements.

Still, the distance of these Hermitages are proportional to one's Depth of Asceticism, with less profound Ascetics living closer to commoners, forming an avenue through which one can step into Asceticism.

The Manticore Belfries... Home to madmen breeding bloodthirsty manticores. The promise of treasure is great. That - I'll admit. But I'd stay clear of that place if I were you... Unless you are a madman yourself, or enjoy the feeling of spines piercing your flesh. Wastetreader Dykstra A cluster of 200ft tall tapered towers made of alabaster bricks topped with a bulbous cage that serve as belfries for manticores. The towers are connected to one another via 100ft wide cliffside tunnels open to one side, held up by rock-hewn pillars fixed with sconces. These partially open tunnels snake around the edges of the cliff, connecting the Greater East Wall to the north and the Lesser Wall to the south. At the foot of each of the towers are fortifications accessible through a thick iron gate, staffed with a platoon of undead soldiers. They will not attack unless provoked. #Lore24 Complete! Congratulations to all who made it through! It was an extremely productive challenge which I think I will continue for many years to come! Let's go #Lore25 !!  Here are the top 10 starred lore fragments. I plan to draw some art of them tomorrow. Interestingly, most of them were at the start, where many were very motivated. But alas, things died down past the 1st quarter but I'm glad for my Crimson Nest and Mistberry which made it in to top 10 (albeit many others had at least 2 stars).
