L25.300 Boulder of Deafness

An unusual boulder enshrined by the Shrine of Song found in desolate northern canyons of An-Ligir. The boulder absorbs all sound within several leagues. Rumored to be an extremely important manifestation of divinity, the guardians of the Shrine are all Ascetics trained in the Soundless school Shur-Qamet, and protect the Boulder with their lives. Despite record of it's existence in some esoteric texts it is not known which deity uses the Boulder to this day.

L25.299 River of Lost Poems

An unusual petrified river found deep under the land in a cave ruin called Amal-Sulib located in East Agash. The river is around 60 ft wide and meanders through several cave systems. Unlike other rivers with flowing water it is completely filled with clay upon which one can find inscribed Serpentine Logograms, an ancestor of the writing systems of the present. Each cluster of writings contain 12 to 36 logograms which correspond with the typical number of characters of poems typically recited in the land, giving it it's unusual name.

L25.298 Slumbering Termite Poultice

An old but expensive remedy used for cosmetic purposes to remove wrinkles from skin. The key ingredient Slumbering Termite, is exceedingly rare and only found in ancient mud seas deep below ancient swamps. There is a rumor that the Termite Poultice was actually an incomplete potion of Eternal Youth, explaining it's remarkable unaging effects.

L25.297 Cypress Palm

A style of pugilism common in Agash taught to the Agashic populace as a basic means of self defense. Said to be discovered by the Cypress Saint who shared his knowledge across the land through records of his dialectic with a range of visitors. The style is so simple that it is also learned by several others in different polities.

L25.296 Poison Peach Bean

A large bean known to grow atop palm sized poisonous peaches, native to the southern rivers of Agash. Despite the poison that the peach contains, the bean that it produces is edible and is harvested as a luxury food due to its rich aroma and oily outer covering. It is typically fried and served as an appetizer in the extravagant dinners of nobles and rich merchants.

L25.295 Mausoleum Guardian

 Across all parts of the land, the concept of state of death is extremely sacred, and all temples of the different deities worshipped through the land all have a Branch of Death that dictate very specific funerary rites. Almost common across all Branches of Death in all Temples in the land do the Rite of Guardians, which manifest spirit guardians that protect the dead from tomb raiders. Regardless of whether the dead is a commoner interred within a catacomb, or a wealthy merchant or nobleman resting within an opulent mausoleum, the Rite of Guardians is conducted without question. The Temple also treats the war-dead extremely carefully, and it is considered a war crime to smuggle the dead of another polity, although it is known to the people of the underworld and criminal societies to be a highly profitable business for reasons not even known to themselves.

L25.294 Twin Moths

 A slinging technique involving the use of special chained sling bullets that look like fluttering moths when fired. The technique is extremely difficult to execute due to the unusual nature of chained bullets, but bestows a much higher chance of firing it successfully compared to other techniques. It is said that mastering it is the prerequisite of joining the Triple Slinger companies of Agash, which are known for being paid three times that of the typical pay of slingers.

L25.293 Ten Horns

A sequence of martial plays involving the use of the dagger-axe. The Ten Horns covers the fundamentals of fighting with the dagger-axe, ranging from grappling, parrying, and describes in detail several scenarios and recommended responses when facing a foe or when being armed with a dagger axe. According to martial history, it originated from Dagger-Tongue a semi-mythical Serpent-Man who forged the first weapons and described the first set of martial arts in the land.

L25.292 Stance of the Solvent Bat

One of the grandmaster stances in the art of the sickle-sword. The stance refers to the mythical Solvent Bat which cannot be seen clearly whether it flies, swims or sleeps. There are two interpretations of the stance with one literally requiring one to strike constantly with such speed that one cannot be seen clearly, and the other more subtle which seeks to make a foe to be unable to tell the distance and intent of the stance's user.

L25.291 Chanter's Thorns

An intermediate mantra chanted by Ascetics of Shur-Qamet. The mantra manifests salts of sound which constricts the chanter's body with invisible thorned vines, inflicting immense pain upon oneself, but also harming those who would physically harm the chanter. The mantra was created by the Circle of Reciprocity, a group of Ascetics who seek to spread asceticism by the principle of teaching others through the sharing of experience.

L25.290 Fang Eared Hare

A hare that originates from the far south in an exotic land known as the Charcoal Dunes. It is known for its characteristic ears which seem to be lined with ivory fangs, its shrill cry and it extremely aggressive behaviour, attacking all creatures in its way, scaring even creatures much larger than itself. Few have managed to tame this small beast, and those who see it as a crowning achievement of beast mastery. Its likeness is rather popular among the newer generation warbands and even used as the coat of arms of several young nobles.

L25.289 Crutch of Wasting

One of the most dangerous artifacts of the land - once held by the Bloodless Ascetic of Shur-Qmet who transcended by draining his own body of his own blood. It currently serves as a catalyst of ascension for adept ascetics and is sealed deep in the Inverted Cavern of Sand in northwestern Shur-Qamet. Should one touch even a small fiber of the crutch they would find their own blood disintegrate from their own veins, immediately crippling them unless they walked the path of Bloodless Asceticism which would allow one to endure this for varying lengths of time depending on one's master of the ascetic art.

L25.288 Shaman of Mud Iltaba

 One of the lesser deities worshipped by the Northwestern Gur-Qetic peoples who follow a unique syncretic faith fused from the belief systems of Ninur-Sin, Lal-Mit and Gur-Qet. Depicted as a sinewy bull-headed woman wearing a long robe and brandishing a tall pillar in her right hand. Before the formation of the three polities that dominate the land of present, Northwestern Gur-Qet was used to be the site of one of the largest Petty Kingdoms named Qutu-Alim, within which the fusion of Ninur-Sinic, Lal-Mitic and Gur-Getic cultures thrived. Iltaba was one of the most popular lesser deities worshipped due to her temple providing food shelter for all adherents - and the practice endures to this day, resulting in the popularity of her cult.

L25.287 Unseen Entwinement

 A transcendent concept written upon the Shattered Stele upon which several Truths of the World were once inscribed by the Serpent of Idiocy during the primordial age.  The concept revolves around the idea that all things are held together by unseen, entwining threads which become thicker and stronger as a soul pursues a thing. The thing that a soul that can pursue can be a physical object, a person, another soul, or even an idea - and the attachment to these things grow stronger as they are pursued. At present, the only person who knows of this Truth is the banished Broken Cauldron Ishim-Asat, an exiled Cauldron from Lal-Mit who was banished from his home due to his preaching of inane ideas deemed poison by the peopls of Lal-Mit at the time.

L25.286 Almroot

A root known for its natural ability for strong intoxication and bestowment of immense strength. Used as part of the arsenal of the Wolf Berserkers of Gur-Qet who late said to be able to single handedly route an entire contingent of soldiers.

L25.285 Black Barley

A type of low grade barley known to be the staple of the ascetics of Shur-Qamet. It is known for being extremely hard when baked but possesses great nutrition should one be able to ingest it. It is with this barley that a dark coloured milk is made and is fed to the many orphans that are cast onto the borders of the Ascetic land, adopted by the ascetics.

L25.284 Ivory Hive

A rare gem found deep in the earth known for its highly consistent hexagonal patterns pure brilliant white color and iridescent specularity. It is prized as the emperor of jewels, surpassing even that of diamonds.

L25.283 Parchsight

A rare curse known for possessing the extremely destructive ability to dehydrate most matter within the range of sight of its bearer. In history, Parchsight was said to have been bestowed by the Serpent of Eternity used by the Throne of Cinder, and the Shackle of Reeds.

L25.282 The Serpent of Eternity

An idol of representing the concept of fate that came from a cult from the Primordial Age. The Serpent coils about all things and whims and outbursts are said to be due to its abrupt constrictions.

L25.281 Quakewater

An extremely precious, sought after and dangerous substance known for melding the isolated characteristics of earth and water elemental salts. In small amounts, Quakewater lightly tremors by itself for several years. When combined in larger volumes, its tremors multiply in magnitude which may cause violent forces to propagate from it. It is said that Quakewater lies deep in the earth in small pockets which gradually meld and causing large earthquakes.

"The Right Sprig is truly the most peaceful of the many others, I've travelled to. I must say even I am tempted to settle here!" the man in the strange helmet spoke to the sergeant who chuckled.

L25.280 Gentle Tiger

A mythical creature of omen, representing masterful deception. Depicted as a tiger with a single stripe, laying in a prone, subservient manner, but with hind legs tensed in preparation of striking. Unlike the other creatures of omen who have been recorded being spotted in ancient times, the Gentle Tiger is a newer creature of omen that was spotted in the Southern Jungles. The tiger was spotted when the meagre orces of the Exiled Saint Migir-Umat successfully routed, through deception, the larger, pursuing armies of the Straw Throne of Ninur-Sin.

Below the largest of the open tents, Domel saw seated on stools two men. The first, Domel clearly recognised as the Sergeant of the Watchtower, Aanlop, but the other appeared to be a stranger wearing a thick, manteau of blue feathers and wearing a bronze helmet with the strange rhombic rim.

L25.279 Spinerash

One of the most infamous diseases known in the land. Spinerash causes the entire of one's spine to itch perpetually, causing great discomfort for long periods of time. Victims of the Spinerash malaise often die of exhaustion due to being unable to sleep for several days in a row. The cure and cause for this disease is not known.

Returning the salute, Domel's company went into the fort before the portcullis was closed behind them. Past the wall was a narrow courtyard in which were set up several tents made of black linen, dimly lit by several ember braziers.

L25.278 Weepers' Syndrome

A defect of the body known for its causing the afflicted to constantly shed tears. In exchange for the defect however, the Weeper is bestowed considerably higher abilities of manipulating Salt, in proportion to the volume of tears typically shed at any moment. Due to their dangerous potential, they are typically ganged up on when identified, preventing them from becoming too powerful.

Several turns later, Domel's company arrived before the oddly shape portcullis which was drawn up as they approached it. Past the portcullis was a soldier in Lizard Leathers who saluted Domel.

L25.277 Ziggurat Cliffs

A extremely holy geographical formation found deep in the Sacred Ravine in eastern Ka-Abir. Only three explorers have visited the cliffs and returned due to the numerous dangers that one has to surmount in order to reach it. Depiction of the cliffs in drawing is strictly forbidden by the Ka-Abiri clergy and one may be marked for death for drawing it. According to rumors, the Cliffs contain calcified Ziggurats from a bygone age long even before the Primordial Age.

The standard billowed in the wind for several moments as Domel gazed at the guard who moved turned his spyglass towards it. After a few more moments the guard stowed his spyglass and appeared to call out to someone to his right.

L25.276 Beaverskin Parchment

A type of writing implement known for its light weight and resistance to water. While the clay tablet is the most common writing implement, it is known for its cumbersome nature. Artificers of Ka-Absur have discovered this alternate writing medium which maintains etchings of a copper stylus, thought it is know to be expensive due to the rarity of beavers in the land.

 Seeing this, Domel gestured to one of the recruits in his company who held a small red standard depicting the symbol of the Right Sprig. The recruit nodded and held the standard up high, raising both his arms fully, ensuring that it was up as high as possible.

L25.275 Horn-skinned Platypus

 A mythical creature of omen, representing growth. Depicted as a flat beaked platypus with swirling horns composing its skin. This creature is the least popular of the Creatures of Omen, and it has only been sighted once according to an ancient record that dates back to the early Primordial Age.

As Domel drew closer, he could see that the watchtower was being manned by around three soldiers stood at along the battlements of three of the four walls. One of the watchtower's soldiers, noticing their presence took out an spyglass and began to watch them.

L25.274 Greater Amalgram

A corpus of unreadable texts fervently worshipped and studied by the adherents of the infamous Readers Cult who mainly operate within Lal-Mit.. Said to be formed from the last Logomancers of the land who practiced a profaned art that manifested soulless illusions that were deemed to have made a mockery of the world itself, resulting in the purge in the early days of Lal-Mit. The Amalgram itself have been studied by several schools unaffiliated with the Readers Cult, but have yet to glean any worthwhile knowledge from it.

Built at the bottom of one of the walls was an unusual portcullis made of two conjoined arches, slighty wider than the typical width of a wagon.

L25.273 Vase of Want

A symbol of overbearing greed depicting a vase with an unusually which gradually narrows into a tiny cylinder upon which is inscribed a circle. In history it has been adopted by several arrogant geniuses who domaniated the lands leaving their marks on the world. It is said that the symbol is cursed, giving its adopters immense luck and capability but making them all meet unceremonious ends.

T25.272 The Lancebearer, Part 5.26

The watchtower looked more like a tiny castle than the typical singular tower that was around four levels high. It bore four towers that were connected by short walls that only ran around twenty steps, forming an unusually small courtyard in the middle of the structure.

L25.272 Slicing Sap

A highly dangerous substance known for its sheer cutting power that transcends that even of forged bronze folded several thousand times. Harvested from the red leafed rubber tree in the southern jungles that is infected with bladeworms, slicing collects along the stump as a prism like growth and eventually erupts like a geyser, cutting apart all things in its path. It is said that the sap can only be collected within an enchanted Silvered Glass vessel, and is used in the most exotic and unusual of concoctions.
