L25.159 Caltrop Fruit
Also known as the Ascetic's Nectarine, the Caltrop fruit is known for its wooden shell that bears numerous spikes which can cause injury when stepped on, giving it its name.
Within the Caltrop fruit is a white fleshed citrus known for its fragrant, refreshing scent, and its great sweetness.
It is consumed sparingly with its shell by beginner ascetics between long periods of fasting to prevent dehydration and to temper the flesh of one's innards.
Due to its small size it is also sometimes found in desert rations as a replacement for large volumes of water.
