L25.28 Sharing Vinegar
An ancient rite of becoming sworn siblings that is rumored to have began from the Warring Tribes period of Ulrunir, where the whole of the land was splintered to 36 to 48 tribes.
Recorded in the Pottery Annals, containing a sensationalized history of the events during the period, is the tale of Mace Lord Kur-Adil, and the Geomancer Zir-Agat - the eventual warlords of the brother-tribes of Unudul and Cagash who are often told as the protagonists of the Pottery Annals who often fought and triumphed despite being outnumbered by larger tribes.
In the Tale of the Cypress Garden, the young Kur-Adil and Zir-Agat exchanged cups filled with plum-salted diluted vinegar becoming sworn brothers, agreeing to die only in battle together. The Tale is highly popular among the common folk and is also frequently re-enacted in many plays typically in Ninur-Sin and Agash - who inherit much of their culture from the ancient Unudul and Cagash tribes.
