L25.27 The Featherstrummer, Part 5.7
Gumue followed the line of travellers while gazing at the stream of rapidly advancing iguanas and lace wielding footmen who marched in orderly ranks at a rapid pace at the tail of the initial column of cavalry.
Their faces were obscured by a headscarf-like helm made of beige leather that bore a metallic visor which afforded vision through a narrow slit and were dressed in a breastplate that only covered half of their chest and baggy looking trousers that seemed to overflow like foam frothing from their metal plated boots.
At the front of each column of around 40 footmen was a standard-bearer, whose helm was made of red leather and wore a falchion on his belt.
"That is a lot of soldiers..." Gumue remarked as she tried to look at the end of the advancing soldiers, but could not find it no matter how far she looked.
