D24.358 Rhizome of Silver - Prison of Vulwu, Goddess of Mirrors

An infernal demiplane that contains the Rhizome of Silver, one the 7 ancient, transcendent arcane nodes responsible for creating the Rootwall which barred the Dwarves of Craagveald from delving deeper.

The demiplane contains a frigid sea of molten silver that spans 600ft in diameter with 2ft high tides that makes it difficult to stand on should one be able to walk on liquids. Those that are unable to walk on liquids will have to swim.

At the bottom of the sea of liquid silver, which is around 80ft deep, are the remains of many defeated challengers of the Rhizome of Silver, that rest on a bed of diamond dust upon which diamond blood kelp grows - a legendary alchemic ingredient said to bestow transcendental robustness to one's flesh, allowing it to further improve beyond the limits of mortals.

At the centre of the the demiplane lies the colossal Rhizome of Silver.

The moment one enters the demiplane, those that are not stealthy enough may immediately be detected by the Humanoid Metal Silme Vulwu, Goddess of Mirrors, who hides in the reflections of the silver sea. She will begin hunting all creatures she detects.

But due to a divine curse placed on her, her sense of time is heavily distorted, and she only acts every 1d6 * 6 seconds, during which she blinks to a nearby reflective or metallic surface within a 80ft diameter.

Using her ability to hide in reflective surfaces, she will ambush creatures by suddenly pouncing upon them from a nearby reflective surface, which increases in power depending on the innate prowess of the metal that casts the reflection. In the case of legendary metals like Flowing Brass, the resultant attacks can be extremely devastating. It is for this same reason that numerous treasures of legendary metals can be found at the bed of the silver sea.

She may be forced out of a reflective surface through the use of certain spells that influence spirits, psychic spells, or extreme temperature.

When severely injured, she will cast spells which break up party members, by forcing them into nearby reflections, and only freeing them after 1d6 * 6 seconds. This spell can be resisted by magics that manipulate, space, light or darkness.

After splitting party members, she will attempt to imitate other party members and cause confusion and discord amongst a party.

When slain, she leaves behind her Divine Slime Core, which is of priceless value, as it may be tinctured into 2 draughts of immortality, assimilated within one with a divine inheritance to gain divinity, or as an infinite source of molten silver.

Over time, if used as an infinite silver source, she will begin to regenerate stealthily into a slime and will regain sentience after 20 years before trying to escape.

Should one drink a tincture made from her core or assimilate her core, one may potentially be subject to the divine curse if one is extremely unlucky, causing one to only be able to act every 1d6 * 6 seconds as well.

When the core is destroyed, made into other items, or assimilated, the Rhizome of Silver is destroyed.
